Just a heads up for the uninformed, twinge's balance mod is excellent when applied to vanilla FTL. I played maybe my first 10 or so games without it and never looked back. also check back because he updates it every so often. I'm pretty sure that Twinge's balance mod is what you're looking for. I've seen him talk about it a few times, and I think the majority of the changes are for the better. The downloads for it were down last time I checked, but it's all working now, will have a look!
